Scarlett O

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the American Civil War, Margaret halloween candy bowl Mitchell's epic love story is an unforgettable tale of love and loss, of a nation mortally fordelt and its people forever changed. At the heart of all this chaos is the story of beautiful, halloween candy bowl ruthless Scarlett 'O' Hara and the dashing soldier of fortune, Rhett Butler.
If I said that "Gone With the Wind" (DK: Gone with the Wind) was an easy and enjoyable book to read, I'd be lying worse than even Scarlett makes through the majority of the more than 1,000-page novel. It was long, tedious and lengthy and I had a long time to get through. But I am nevertheless glad that I chose to endure to the last page. "Gone halloween candy bowl With the Wind" is a roller coaster ride to read, both good and evil. A long ride on a rollercoaster of particular type, where four-fifths of the trip runs quietly up against a steep descent, which is so far away that you can not even make out the horizon, before it's too late. It is a rollercoaster ride of the kind that subsequently leave one slightly queasy halloween candy bowl but still with a desire halloween candy bowl - almost an invincible desire - to try it again - it can not be true that it all was so uncomfortable that you remember? There must have been some good things too!
"Why, she had never had to do a thing for herself in all her life. There had always been someone to do things here. It was incredible That she could be in så fix. Not a friend, not a neighbor two full here. There had always been friends, neighbors, the kompetent hands of willing slaves. And now in this hour of greatest need, there was no one. it was incredible That she could be so completely halloween candy bowl alone, and frightened, and far from home. "
"Gone With the Wind" is one long emotional slippery slope, and it is for that reason that I give the four of hearts, despite the sometimes seemed infinitely long, and several halloween candy bowl times I was about to give up. In many respects reminded of me of Emily Brontë's "Wuthering Heights" - both in terms of the emotional whirlwind, but also because Mitchell has managed in the same way as Brontë did it to create a story where the two main characters are both fantastic unsympathetic in their own way, but where you still somewhere - incredible as it may sound - cares about what happens to them. It therefore requires its author to write such a narrative.
Scarlett O'Hara is probably the most superficial, selfish and empty-headed halloween candy bowl goose, yet she is so stubborn and have such an iron will, you can not help but admire her for it, instead of being horrified by her selfishness.
Likewise, Rhett so arrogant, bad faith and superior that half could be enough. But his - admittedly rare - moments of altruism towards his fellow man, or, especially, tenderness targeting Scarlett outweigh greatly his less sympathetic traits.
Without revealing too much, I suppose I could allow myself to say that it is the relationship between Scarlett halloween candy bowl and Rhett, who is the big draw for the novel. Such was the case at least for me, and it's probably also what most people think of when they hear the name "Gone With the Wind" or "Gone with the Wind" - regardless halloween candy bowl of whether halloween candy bowl they have read the book or not. Their romance is both lengthy and high-flying, temperamental and moody. But it works!
"No, my dear, I'm halloween candy bowl not in love with you, no more than you are with me, and if I were, you would be the last person I'd ever tell. God help the man som ever really loves you. You'd break his heart, my darling, cruel, destructive halloween candy bowl little cat Who is so careless and confident she does not even trouble two sheathe here claws. "
It is one of those cases where both are so unsympathetic that you immediately see that they must be made for each other. halloween candy bowl But while they are both so stubborn that they are among the last to admit it.
"I love you, Scarlett, fordi we are so much alike, renegades, botheration of us, dear, and selfish rascals. Neither of us cares a rap if the whole world goes to pot, so long as we are safe and comfortable. "
It was this "one-step-back-and-to-back" process, which made me think of the novel - despite its many long and (in my opinion) boring chapters on the Civil War, both during, before and for. I have as such not mind war or historical novels, and it was also quite interesting to read about it from the Confederate point of view, which I do not think they have seen much of before. But it is in my opinion not there, Mitchell excels. No, rather it is in scenes filled with intense and tense chemistry between the two main characters, where you feel you are about to burst with excitement halloween candy bowl about it perhaps is now, something is happening!
"He looked, and was, a man of lusty and unashamed appetites. He had an air of utter assurance, of displeasing insolence halloween candy bowl about him, and there was a twinkle of malice in his eyes as he ball stared
