So I have a completely different view. I have not read the book nor have I seen prior treatment, but after those 2 hours I was out of the movie taken nothing. Amazing visuals and even the cast, but I still expected to explain more background Gatsby "business", I know what film he wanted to say, but it probably is not my cup of tea. Up
So I have a completely different view. I have not read the book nor have I seen prior treatment, but after those 2 hours I was out of the movie taken nothing. Amazing visuals and even the cast, but I still expected to explain more background Gatsby "business", I know what film he wanted to say, but it probably is not my cup of tea. I read the book, so I knew what story to go. But it clearly. Everyone has their own opinion and taste.
I must admit that I was somewhat afraid of the process, but ultimately the film surpassed my expectations. Horribly liked "playing out" scenes - first foray camera to the scene of events, the addition of lights, music, carnival and eventually entree main characters. Interior, perfect, amazing dream trick shots, seemingly unsuitable to modern music underlined the great atmosphere of the film. Perfect costumes and props. Vymakané to the last detail. Tobey Maguire after a short pause, acting shine. Leonardo DiCaprio me, perhaps for the first time in the history of the role convinced that she can be sexy. Joel Edgerton proved to me that, in addition to their usual roles, including the role of villains. Elizabeth Debicki me so confused by its appearance, I'm half the movie wondering if Zooey Deschanel has grown so much and lost weight :-) The only big minus for me was cast Carey Mulligan to me as fragile famme fatal come either from an express train. I like the book The Great Gatsby, and I dare say that it is now a film comparable. Great Gatsby is my ability to close their own self-fulfillment fantasies and also by not giving up hope and hope and hope and hope until the last breath. The first third of the film is a bit načančaná and superficial, but fortunately culminated story line and the ending was as pleasurable climax film fans. Up
